Amy of Little Muggles makes the most adorable little stuffed animal creations, don’t you think? If you’re wondering, amigurumi is simply a Japanese word meaning a crocheted or knitted stuffed doll. It’s not really a technique. It’s just the Japanese word for a stuffed toy. To say that Amy is an expert at making amigurumi is an understatement. Since the word amigurumi is now a part of our crochet vocabulary, you may also see people call them ami for short. Ami means crocheted or knitted so it’s not technically correct, but what’s not to love about a nickname?
In addition to the patterns which she has made available on her website, she also has patterns in several traditionally published books. She contributed her talent to all four of the popular Zoomigurumi books.
Amy has weighted this owl with polyester pellets and she works at a tight tension to ensure they don’t leak out. You might also consider putting the pellets inside an old knee high before you stuff the owl.
