After you pick up your free pattern, be sure to come back to enter to win a crochet hook wallet with 14-piece aluminum crochet hook set!

Megan Meyer of Left in Knots has designed this beautiful hat with a beautiful Fair Isle style band. This is a perfect introduction to color changing with a small section like this. The band consists of 11 rows total.

Megan has used the tapestry crochet technique of carrying the yarn. For short little color changes, carrying the yarn is perfectly suited. She has a short technique video linked in her pattern notes section to assist. Megan is left handed, but I’m sure that right-handers will be able to use it as well.

Once the band is complete, you’ll overlap the ends to create a mock button closure. You may want to try it on just to check sizing and create less or more of an overlap, as necessary. And, yes, you can absolutely stop at this point if you want and have a winter ear warmer headband.

For the body of the hat, you’ll be working in a clever little lace v-stitch pattern. Be sure to check the special stitch definitions at the top of the pattern so you are using the correct stitch combination. Stitch up to the last round, cut off, cinch up the closing and your hat is finished!

Make It Crochet Drawing: Faux Leather Crochet Hook Wallet

Open worldwide only where allowed by law. Not allowed in Quebec.

I’ll be giving away one faux leather crochet hook wallet as shown and the 14-piece aluminum crochet hook set shown. Please be aware that the hook wallet says “Twilight” in the scrolled portion. I don’t know why. I don’t think it has anything at all to do with the movies and I certainly never saw Bella with a crochet hobby. Perhaps it’s a brand name, but it is pretty cool, especially if you also happen to be a fan.

One name will be chosen randomly from all names entered prior to close at 12:00am (CST) on January 17, 2017. The winner will be required to provide me with a mailing address. Leaving your email address is mandatory to enter. Choose any of the other options for additional entries. Good luck, everyone!

a Rafflecopter giveaway
You can rest assured that entering your email address for this prize drawing is safe. I won’t use your email for anything except to notify the winners. You won’t be signed up for my newsletter or anything else. The only way you can sign up for my newsletter is by actually signing up for my newsletter and then confirming your subscription through email. Nothing shady going on here.

Enjoy!
