Frequently, I see people post photos of pretty cotton baby dresses in different crochet groups and ask for a pattern. The photos are usually of Russian designs. The patterns are usually just partial charts. People consistently love these designs but get frustrated because of the lack of written patterns.

This design is by Lucille LaFlamme, originally published in 2007 and now generously provided by the publisher for free at the link below.

The pattern is written in three sizes, up to 3 months, 6 months and 12 months. The size changes are made by changing hook sizes.

It may be a lot easier to start off by falling in love with the US-published written pattern instead of “forcing it” with an international pattern. 🙂
