Here is an incredible baby blanket by Ann Regis. It’s a wonderful opportunity to use a variegated yarn. I know so many people love variegated yarns but it’s more difficult to find crochet projects that work well with them.
With the Rainbow Swirl Baby Blanket, you start off with one terrific variegated yarn and then you add five coordinating solids. You don’t even have to do that, though. Use one or more solid colors. Use whatever you like. Getting creative with this one is easy!
Each adorable little square is only two rounds with the second round being join-as-you-go. With join-as-you-go, there’s no seaming, but the number of squares will mean that this project has a really large number of ends to weave in.
With a project like this, you will need to set it in your mind that weaving in the ends is just a part of making the square. Think of it like unwrapping a present. I promise that, if you can change your mindset, you will discover the beauty and fun in a project like this. Change. The. Mindset.
