Making crochet patterns for Womens clothing is a great way to expand your crochet skills. I’ve made over 100 garment designs over the years and many of them were published in books and magazines. These four designs were published in different issues of Crochet! magazine, both print and online. So much green!

Making Summer Tops
Out of all the clothing designs I’ve done, I prefer to make summer tops. I love working with cotton blends. I know that they’re more difficult to find. But, I just head over to Wool Warehouse and filter a search for the yarn weight I want.
What else do I love about summer tops? Most of the time, they don’t require sleeves and that’s the big bonus. The tops are often cropped and, without having to design sleeves, it means you can finish a lot of tops in around 10 hours. It’s sometimes more, sometimes less. But, it’s still less time than a sweater! I love that. The decision that you want to crochet something during the week to wear on the weekend is within reach.
